Firecrown, which is well-known for publishing transportation-related content, has acquired EnterTRAINment Junction.
This well-known attraction was located in West Chester, Ohio, and was famous for having the largest indoor train display in the world. However, EnterTRAINment Junction permanently closed on January 5, 2025. Now, Firecrown plans to move these train displays to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and build a new transportation museum there.
What Was EnterTRAINment Junction?
EnterTRAINment Junction was a huge family-friendly place that attracted visitors from across the country. It was an 80,000-square-foot space filled with amazing train models. One of its main attractions was a 25,000-square-foot train layout, which included detailed models of trains and landscapes. These were carefully designed to amaze people of all ages.
Families loved this place because it had fun events like “Everything Thomas” and “Christmas at the Junction.” It became a must-visit spot for train lovers and families who returned every year. But now, with its closure, Firecrown will give these displays a new life in Chattanooga.
Why Chattanooga?
Chattanooga is known as a “train town” because of its rich history with railroads. It’s also home to popular tourist attractions like:
- The Tennessee Aquarium
- Ruby Falls
- The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum
- The railroad-themed hotel called the Chattanooga Choo Choo.
Firecrown believes Chattanooga is the perfect place to preserve the legacy of EnterTRAINment Junction while also adding something new and exciting for locals and visitors.
What Will the New Museum Be Like?
The new museum will be called “The Motion Museum.” It won’t just focus on trains—it will cover all kinds of transportation, including:
- Aviation
- Trucking
- Maritime
- Freight movement
For example, the museum plans to include a miniature version of the Port of Savannah and expand its intermodal yard (a display showing how different types of transportation, like trains and trucks, work together).
The museum will also have interactive displays to help people learn about how goods are moved around the world. This way, it will be both educational and fun for everyone.
Who Is Behind This?
Firecrown is led by its CEO, Craig Fuller, who is excited about this project. Firecrown already owns many train-related publications, such as Trains Magazine, Model Railroader, and Classic Toy Trains. They also create content about other transportation topics like aviation, marine, and space.
The company operates a streaming TV network and even has a fishing show on ESPN. By turning the museum into an interactive studio, Firecrown can create even more content about transportation for its audience.
Firecrown wants the new museum to be:
- A fun destination where families and transportation enthusiasts can learn about how different modes of transportation work.
- A hub for creativity, where content about trains, planes, and other transportation topics can be developed.
- A way to preserve history, keeping the magic of EnterTRAINment Junction alive while introducing new features.
The museum is expected to open by the end of 2025 or early 2026, giving the team time to carefully plan and create something truly special.
What’s Next?
The next steps include:
- Moving the train exhibits from Ohio to Chattanooga.
- Designing and building the new museum, which will also function as an indoor theme park.
- Expanding the exhibits to include more types of transportation, like trucks and airplanes.
- Creating interactive features to make the museum engaging for visitors.
The project aims to celebrate the wonders of transportation while creating something that people of all ages can enjoy.
