Stord Buys Ware2Go from UPS to Grow Its Delivery Network

Big news in the world of online shopping and fast delivery: Stord, a fast-growing startup that helps e-commerce brands ship their products quickly and efficiently, just bought another company called Ware2Go from UPS.

You shop online, and Stord makes sure your stuff actually shows up. When you click “buy” on a website, companies like Stord help make sure that product is packed, shipped, and arrives at your door on time. By buying Ware2Go, they’ve added 21 new warehouses to their network—basically, a lot more space (2.5 million square feet!) to store products and ship them out faster.

Ware2Go was started by UPS back in 2018. It helped small and mid-sized businesses find space in warehouses close to their customers. That way, they could deliver stuff faster—sometimes in just one or two days. Now that Stord owns it, they plan to plug in their own tech and make it all run even smoother.

This isn’t Stord’s first big move. In the past year or so, they’ve also bought companies like ProPack and Fulfillment Works to keep growing. Just last week, they raised over $200 million in funding, which now values the company at $1.5 billion. Not bad for a business that started in 2015!

Stord’s CEO, Sean Henry, says this move helps them grow across the U.S. and serve customers even better. He also said that with people still expecting fast delivery and easy returns—even with all the global trade drama—this is the right time to expand.

UPS, on the other hand, is focusing on its core delivery services and trimming down other parts of its business. But they say they’ll still work closely with Stord going forward.

Fun fact: Black Friday and Cyber Monday were big, and Stord was part of it—handling close to 1% of U.S. online sales. Some of their customers include brands like Jolie, Quip, and Goodr.

So if your online orders arrive faster in the future—you might have Stord to thank for it!

In this fast-changing logistics space, companies like Lading Logistics are also helping brands move smarter and scale faster.
