It\u2019s a big move because the DOT handles a massive $110 billion budget, so whoever runs it has huge influence over highways, airports, and even truck parking.<\/p>\n

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA), which represents small trucking businesses, is already throwing its support behind Duffy. They\u2019re hoping he\u2019ll help with truck parking issues, cutting down on freight fraud, and rolling back what they call unnecessary regulations. They\u2019ve even called for the Senate to confirm him quickly, which tells they\u2019re eager to get things moving.<\/p>\n
