Our roads are lethal. Between July 2023 and July 2024, Motive analyzed more than 45 million safety incidents in the U.S. Key findings included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commercial vehicle crashes rise significantly during the holidays, with rates jumping 32% on Christmas Day, and speeding incidents increasing 10% in the days leading up to the holiday.<\/li>\n<li>On average, for every 10,000 vehicles on U.S. roads each month, there are 84 commercial vehicle collisions, equivalent to about one collision for every 120 vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Most crashes occur on weekdays between 4 and 6 p.m., with 60 mph being the most collision-prone speed on highways.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report also highlighted America\u2019s most dangerous roadways, from U.S. Highway 41 and State Road 997 in Florida to State Highway 123 in Texas, along with the most dangerous intersection: Detroit\u2019s I-75 and I-375 junction.<\/p>\n<p>Abhishek Gupta, Motive\u2019s VP of Product Management, noted that many of these incidents were high-severity crashes.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Motives_First_Responder_Works\"><\/span>How Motive&#8217;s First Responder Works<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Gupta emphasized the critical role time plays during an emergency, explaining how the First Responder feature was designed to make every second count. He compared it to smartwatches that detect falls and automatically alert emergency services.<\/p>\n<p>Motive\u2019s AI can detect 99% of accidents within seconds, using machine learning models and a 24\/7 safety team to eliminate false positives. Once confirmed, a notification and video of the incident are sent to customers via the Motive Fleet App, who can then notify emergency services, or allow Motive to do so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also provide live updates once the information has been generated, once the call has been started, as well as any additional information that they need to know,\u201d Gupta added. \u201cAll of this information is available at their fingertips.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>First Responder uses cell networks to transmit data about collisions, and in areas with poor cell coverage, the system can rely on older networks to ensure critical information is sent. Data is also stored within Motive\u2019s hardware, so it\u2019s transmitted as soon as connectivity is restored.<\/p>\n<p>Gupta noted that this integrated data is also shared with dispatch centers through the RapidSOS system, allowing first responders to access the information instantly.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Broad_Coverage_for_Emergency_Response\"><\/span>Broad Coverage for Emergency Response<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Jennifer White, Director of Partnerships at RapidSOS, explained that the First Responder service currently covers 99% of the U.S. population through 6,000,911 centers, with additional coverage in Mexico and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re connected to over 21,000 first responder agencies where they can actually see the data on devices in the field as they\u2019re responding to the call so they\u2019re better prepared as they go,\u201d White said. \u201cWe process over 171 million emergencies annually across our platform.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Effective Monday, all organizations using the Motive platform can access First Responder for no additional cost.<\/p>\n<p>By leveraging their expertise and resources,
